The Oberoi Beach Resort, Al Zorah

A contemporary and secluded family beach resort located in Ajman, Dubai’s neighbouring Emirate, yet only a 30-minute drive from Dubai International Airport. If you’re seeking sun, sea and space, this is a fantastic alternative to Dubai’s busier resorts. It’s very modern with a great beach.

Stay at The Oberoi Beach Resort, Al Zorah

Walk across quiet white sand. Revel in tranquillity. Embrace a feeling of space, inside your suite and then when you look out through floor-to-ceiling windows. This doesn't feel like Dubai. There’s no bustle or neon. You’re immersed in a natural world, not an artificial one. And you’re not actually in Dubai, despite Oberoi Beach Resort Al Zorah being closer to Dubai International Airport than The Palm Jumeirah. This is Ajman’s first top-tier resort and it’s proving a great alternative to Dubai’s bustle, if you want a quiet beach stay with the family.

Location

The advantage of Ajman is space and value. The Oberoi Beach Resort Al Zorah stands alone on a natural white-sand beach, with sweeping sea views and none of the construction work which is unfortunately impacting many Dubai hotels. It’s an idyllic location if you want a beach holiday, but not a good location if you want to explore Dubai and do many excursions. As such, this hotel usually favours travellers who have visited Dubai before.

Rooms

Very modern in style, with massive windows maximising the sea view that comes with every room. Oberoi are known for their hotels in India, but here the style is more Scandinavia meets Italy than a nod to the East. This is a sprawling low-rise resort, with 74 rooms in the main building. Then there are 15 villas catering to different sizes of family, all located on the beach. All accommodations are fresh and very well appointed.

Who is it for

This is a quiet resort more similar to the Indian Ocean islands than nearby Dubai. It’s best for families wanting a relaxed sun and sea holiday, not so good for active exploration beyond the resort.

Facilities & activities

Two good restaurants, a large spa with many discrete areas, plus a long and wide beach that’s better than any you’ll find in Dubai. The 85-metre infinity pool is another highlight, then there is paddleboarding, kayaking and other water sports. Service is of a high level as well.
