Stay at VILA VITA Parc
Whitewashed cliffs glisten in the dawn light. The sea peacefully sparkles. It’s serene down on this small strip of sand. Later you’ll travel five minutes to a beach club on a larger beach. In between there’s the spa and tonight you have reservations at the hotel’s two Michelin-star Ocean restaurant. But after a sunrise dip it’s time for downtime at your suite, a peaceful place hidden amongst subtropical gardens. This was the Algarve’s first genuinely five-star hotel and after a recent renovation it remains the region’s flagship. So if you seek a great beachfront stay look no further.
Location
Secluded yet convenient. Vila Vita Parc is in the centre of the Algarve and commands a huge area, so while it’s close to a lot of attractions it still feels remote. It has its own beach on the distinctive Algarve coast, hidden below the whitewashed cliffs. A five-minute shuttle takes you to a larger beach and the hotel’s beach club. Faro International Airport is only 40 minutes away and cute fishing towns like Carvoeiro make for easy afternoon excursions. It’s also a good location for golfers.
Rooms
The large-scale refurbishment was necessary and it brings the early 1990s rooms into an airier, brighter modern era. Many of the 170 rooms and suites are spread around the large gardens, so the resort feels more intimate than its size initially suggests. Families should consider the multi-bedroom villas.
Who is it for
An excellent all-rounder for families, with a Kid’s Club, creche, beach access and also Michelin dining. Golfers will enjoy it here. It’s also a good option for most couples, especially with the different bars and beach club, although some couples will prefer the intimacy of the Algarve’s smaller properties.
Facilities & activities
Vila Vita Parc’s perennial success is centred upon a high quality variety of amenities for everybody. Of the 11 restaurants, it's the tasting menu at Ocean you don’t want to miss. But for this experience leave your kids in the Kid’s club. We don’t know many properties with a children’s playground to match Vila Vita Parc. This amenity is complemented by the water sports, sports facilities, and top notch spa. As we said, this is a really good all rounder.
