Appearances can be deceiving – cloaked in glass and a thoroughly modern exoskeleton and decorated with sweeping metal shapes of Frank Gehry sculptures – you could be forgiven for thinking Hotel Arts is a flashy upstart, a newcomer to Barcelona’s hotel scene. You’d be wrong. Within its shiny walls is one of Barcelona’s original high-end luxury hotels. The Hotel Arts have been at this for a while and their experience and dedication to the art of high-quality service shows. The outside may look modern but inside those looking for traditional high-quality service will not be disappointed.

Location

Beach lovers will not be disappointed, the Hotel Arts has a prime location on La Barceloneta beach with fabulous views up and down the coast. Sightseers might find public transport lacking and the walk into town a bit of a slog but don’t worry, there's uber aplenty.

Rooms

Like its competition The W at the other end of the beach, the rooms at the Hotel Arts have stunning views but slightly bland decor, not disappointing but nothing earth-shattering design-wise. Opt for either a sea, or city view, or spend a little more for one with both.

Who is it for

Those who want a beach holiday, superb old-school service and a room with quite a view. Older couples and families are particularly well looked after and cared for here.
