Singapore

Singapore is so many things rolled into one, from swish new hotels to intriguing neighbourhoods, fine dining to streetfood, thousands of energetic ideas but also the solitude of a beachside retreat. Don’t go for too long, it’s really not very big. But expect to explore somewhere very unique.

Explore Singapore

A vibrant melting point of cultures, wrapped into a small city state with so much layover potential. Have breakfast in India, spend a morning on a Pacific beach, an afternoon in fashionista shopping arcades, then party through the night on the top floor gardens of a skyscraper. Getting here and around

Many major airlines fly to Singapore and it’s a good layover destination, especially if you’re travelling further east to Australia or Indonesia. Get around in private cars but also on one of the world’s best public transport systems - even multimillionaires use the MRT.

Climate & seasons

Singapore is almost on the equator, where the temperature hits 30 - 32℃ every day and the humidity only relents with the almost daily downpour. With such a consistent climate there are no defined seasons.

Where to go

In one morning you go from colonial Britain to China to Malaysia, to a green skyscraper overlooking the bay. Every city block can be different and you can explore a lot in just one or two days. We’re not particularly impressed with the island resort of Sentosa though. If you want a beach holiday it’s much nicer to travel just one hour outside Singapore and stay in coastal Malaysia.

What to do

Be a VIP at the Grand Prix. Watch the runway at Singapore Fashion Week. Drive a supercar around town, take a speedboat down the canals and a yacht around the bay. Have a morning doing golf, brunch, shopping or spa, then drink tea in a temple. There’s a lot of money in Singapore and a lot of exclusive experiences to go with it
