Dubai

United Arab Emirates

From that first glimpse of Dubai’s iconic skyline, you know this is a place like no other. Welcome to the future. Yet just two hours later you can be riding a camel with nothing but rolling red sand dunes as far as the eye can see and feel like you have travelled back in time. Dubai is a constant surprise. And from supercars to superyachts, to traditional wooden ferry rides, it's certainly never boring. Come for the luxury, stay for the shopping but leave with a few unexpected adventures under your new designer belt.

Explore Dubai

Dubai International Airport (DXB) is the fourth busiest on the planet. Traffic willing, it’s just 20 minutes from the airport to downtown. Chauffeured cars are the most comfortable mode of transport. Whilst helicopter taxis allow you to avoid rush hour.

Climate & seasons

The most pleasant beach temperatures are found in March to mid-May and October and November. December to February is the chilly season. From the end of May to September temperatures rise to 50ºC and it’s best to enjoy indoor activities of which there is a wide range.

Where to go

Downtown to shop, eat, sightsee and just stand in awe of the vertiginous architecture. Dubai Marina for a buzzing neighbourhood of bars and restaurants. Jumeirah Beach or Palm Jumeirah for sand between your toes and watersports. The desert for some unforgettable adventure experiences.

What to do

Visit the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa. Shop at Dubai Mall, the world’s largest. Rent a supercar and go for a spin of the city, or take a helicopter ride for a falcon’s eye view from above. Head out to a luxury desert camp to satisfy any Bedouin fantasies you may have. Keep the kids happy with a trip to Dubai Aquarium, Legoland, Wild Wadi or an almost endless list of theme parks and waterworlds.
