Waldorf Astoria Seychelles Platte Island

A long awaited new resort helping to revive Seychelles as a destination. We think Platte Island has huge potential for our clients and we will make our personal inspection in June.

Stay at WA Platte Island

Finally a new island resort in the Seychelles. Platte is one of the Seychelles’ more remote and natural islands, which should mean both excellent marine activities and tranquillity. Waldorf Astoria Ithaafushi in the Maldives is one of the very best for activities and facilities, so we expect something similar at this new island resort. We’ll update this page in June with our first-hand inspection.

Location

A resort on its own atoll in the outer islands, 20 minutes by the resort's plane from Seychelles International Airport.

Rooms

50 pool villas, ranging from one to five bedrooms, potentially accommodating up to ten guests together. These are all scattered around the island with easy access to the beach and ocean. Each has a personal concierge too.

Who is it for

From first impressions this looks to be a strong option for both couples and families, and especially good for larger families given the large multi-bedroom villas. It’s a large natural island with a lot to offer, so could be good for both active and relaxing holidays.

Facilities & activities

The Outer Islands are among the biologically diverse ecosystems in the world, so for diving, snorkelling and fly fishing this resort is likely to be a winner. There’s turtle patrol, nature camps for kids, coral gardening, surfing, kite surfing and yacht excursions. We expect big things from the Waldorf Spa and wellness experiences, and are impressed by the gastronomy proposal, which focuses on garden and ocean to table.
