Fregate Island

Reopening in 2025. Sublime isolation and exquisite nature, on a private island. Currently undergoing a much-needed renovation and set to reopen in 2025. Previously it was one of the most exclusive of all 115 Seychelles islands.

Stay at Fregate Island

Where luxury meets tropical wilderness. With just 16 spaced out villas on the entire island, you are just as likely to bump into one of 2,200 giant tortoises that call the island home as another guest. Fregate Island is incredible, especially the immersion in nature. But the accommodation and facilities were in massive need of an upgrade. So we look forward to Fregate Island reopening in 2025 as it has the potential to rival the best Indian Ocean resorts.

Location

Ideal for those looking to escape. Fregate Island is approximately 90 minutes by boat or 20 minutes by helicopter from the main island of Mahé. The resort sits on one side of the island, while the rest is left as an untamed wilderness – free for you to explore at will.

Rooms

Previously the island had 16 villas sleeping two to six adults, dotted in seclusion on a buff above the white sand beach. We do not yet know what the accommodation options will be when Fregate Island reopens.

Who is it for

Couples who want seclusion and an opportunity to be at one with nature. Not ideal for active children or anybody seeking a huge range of facilities.

Facilities & activities

It’s all about the nature here. Seven beaches to explore, diving, snorkelling, deep-sea fishing and an array of water sports options. The Castaway Kids club for little ones and the Rock Spa with majestic views over the island.
