Location

The location is superb, on a beach with endless views over the water. But very close to downtown and Dubai’s bustle, with views over Sheikh Zayed Road.

Rooms

All the rooms and suites provide a sense of contemporary decadence. Most have balconies or terraces. Suites and rooms are spread across all floors and there are many interconnecting options, up to four rooms joined together for larger families. You can usually choose between sea views or city skyline views, but avoid the entry-level rooms as they are on lower floors on the city side, without a view. Suites include access to the superb Club Lounge on the top floor. If you're staying in a room then the upgrade to lounge access is worth it.

Who is it for

Great for couples and families who demand very high standards of service and amenities. Ideal if you want to explore but also be on the beach.

Facilities & activities

Portugal’s most famous Michelin-starred chef is in the kitchen at La Tasca and it's worth visiting even only for a drink. There are five pools, cleverly designed so everyone can find their own space around the water. Plus a good spa and one of Dubai’s best fitness centres. Beyond the hotel you can easily walk or cycle on the promenade to the new J1 Beach area with its many restaurants. During all our inspections the service has been impeccable throughout.
