If you’re looking for something spectacular to do during your stay at the Nomadic Expeditions Wilderness Camp, we’ve got you covered. How about a day with Kazakh eagle hunters?
Majestic eagles are trained by Kazakh hunters from a young age to capture small game. The hunters themselves are an impressive sight, dressed in traditional dark coats and scarlet hats, with their eagles perched on their arms as they ride around the remote Namarjin Valley.
And you get to see it all as it happens.
As well as the eagle hunters, you’ll spend time with local Uriankhai families, a minority tribe (just 1% of the population) who are skilled archers. You’ll attend an archery exhibit and learn how they make their incredible bows and arrows that were extensively used during the reign of Chinggis Khan.
Spending time with ethnic groups as they go about their daily lives? That’s what we call a culturally immersive experience.
