Best Beachfront 5* Hotels in Turkey

Turkey is where an incredible coastline and climate combine with a rich history of hospitality.

There are so many reasons why Turkey is such a popular summer destination. Including these six outstanding waterfront hotels.

This is why we recommend Maxx Royal Belek, Maxx Royal Kemer, Mandarin Oriental Bodrum, Six Senses Kaplankaya, The Peninsula Istanbul & Mandarin Oriental Bosphorus.

When creating holidays in Turkey we can include such a variety of experiences, from yacht charters to archaeology, gastronomy to shopping. But we always start with selecting the best place to stay.

Antalya

Antalya is Turkey’s classic family destination. Stunning sandy beaches, turquoise waters, beautiful inland nature and some good beachfront resorts for discerning families.

While it’s not considered an adventurous destination, remember that Antalya has a long history. You can explore what the Greek, Roman and Byzantine empires left behind. Or you can hang on the beach and play golf.

At EliteVoyage we don’t typically recommend all-inclusive resorts. Antalya is an exception and offers two of the very best.

Maxx Royal Belek Golf Resort

It’s so rare to find a big all-inclusive resort that offers a genuinely luxury experience. At Maxx Royal Belek we are always so impressed at both the service and attention to details.

The best beachfront hotel in Turkey for golfers and a fine choice for families too.

The main advantage of such a big resort is the range of facilities. Like the Ayen Royal Spa, on-site chocolatier, water park, butler service, private beach, Turkey’s best golf course and many pools.

If you demand more privacy for your family we recommend a four-bedroom villa, with private pool and helicopter transfers from the airport.

Maxx Royal Kemer

Maxx Royal Kemer is a step up from its sister resort. It’s newer, has a more private coastal setting and a more interesting design.

Unlike most all-inclusive resorts, Maxx Royal Kemer doesn’t have a buffet. All the restaurants and bars are a la carte, so you have a gourmet experience throughout, including premium drinks.

While the excellent spa deserves a mention, Maxx Royal Kemer is mostly about facilities for children. Like the water park, Maxxiland kids club, three beaches and many pools.

Overall, Maxx Royal Kemer is a paradise for most families.

We like to book the villas for our clients, as they have access to a private beach with cabanas.

Bodrum

Homer described Bodrum as the “land of the eternal blue.” With its secluded coves and inviting waters, this is the prettiest beachfront destination in Turkey.

Bodrum has a more grown-up atmosphere and has developed into a real luxury destination, thanks to relatively new resorts from Six Senses, Edition and Mandarin Oriental.

While Antayla has water parks, in Bodrum we love arranging charters on traditional Turkish gullets. Direct flight options are more limited so consider combining Bodrum with Istanbul. Or a multi-day cruise along the Turkish Riviera.

Mandarin Oriental Bodrum

Stretching across the green hills above Paradise Bay, Mandarin Oriental Bodrum finds a perfect balance between authenticity, facilities and your own space.

You get the signature Mandarin Oriental quality, in terms of design and service. In a breathtaking setting.

While it’s not a completely romantic hideaway like a Maldives island, all the facilities compensate for the lack of absolute privacy.

We love the variety of restaurants, the three-floor spa, two private beaches and everything on offer at the watersports centre. For a varied summer holiday staying in one resort, this is an excellent choice.

Six Senses Kaplankaya

Six Senses Kaplankaya

Couples seeking a calm and secluded getaway in Turkey won’t find anywhere better than Six Senses Kaplankaya.

Spa and wellness has been part of Turkish culture for centuries. People have built and bathed in hammans for almost 1500 years.

Six Senses Kaplankaya

So combine this history with the Six Senses approach to spa, health and wellbeing. And you have a sublime beachfront resort for a restorative retreat.

Don’t stay here with kids. Six Senses Kaplankaya is best for couples wanting to escape the everyday, tune out from the world and focus on themselves.

Istanbul

Okay, Istanbul doesn’t have a beach. It’s not like Athens, where one of the best beach holidays in Greece is Four Seasons Astir on the Athens Riviera.

Istanbul does have an enviable waterfront location and some outstanding hotels, where you can relax by the water after a day of exploring.

How about extending your beach holiday with a stay in Istanbul? There’s a lot to explore, from shopping to culture, with activities for all the family.

The Peninsula Istanbul

The Peninsula Istanbul fronts the city’s trendiest new neighbourhood, the Galataport. It’s a prime location for exploring all over the city.

The Peninsula Istanbul is on our HOT list of new hotel openings for 2023.

It’s spread across four buildings, which honour the city’s architectural heritage. There are lavish hammams, gleaming suites overlooking the water and a rooftop pool looking out to Asia.

Mandarin Oriental Bosphorus

Opened in 2021, the grand Mandarin Oriental Bosphorus has quickly established itself as the favourite place to stay in Istanbul among our clients.

A peaceful oasis away from the city bustle, with a quiet waterside location and easy access to the city’s main sights by boat.

We love the hotel design, how it’s more locally inspired than most Mandarin Oriental hotels. Avoid the basic rooms though. Get a Bosphorus View room or suite and get ready for a colossal bathroom.
