Le Sirenuse Hotel Positano

One of the Med’s true luxury icons. This is the finest hotel in the heart of one of the Amalfi Coast’s most consistently charming towns, Positano.

Stay at Le Sirenuse

“Spotless and cool” is how Steinbeck described Le Sirenuse way back in 1958, and who are we to question his wisdom. Six decades, and many discerning guests later, this enduring icon of luxury Med chic remains as spotless, cool as ever, and we’re not just talking about the ice room in the spa – a modern edition Mr Steinbeck didn’t get to witness. From its perch on the clifftop, proudly overlooking the charming village houses of Positano tumbling down to the sea – like a grandfather watching over his progeny – Le Sirenuse offers guests what it always has, sumptuous views outward, and spectacular facilities and service within.

Location

Step out of the hotel and into a postcard. The Le Sirenuse is located on a cliffside overlooking the enchanting town of Positano, one of Amalfi’s must-visit destinations. Unlike many Amalfi hotels, Le Sirenuse is in the heart of the action, just a five-minute stroll downward are cafes, bars, restaurants and the Marina Grande with its regular ferries to Capri and Sorrento.

Rooms

58 individually furnished rooms and suites spread over many terraces connected by a warren of stairs. The views of Positano from rooms on the higher floors are worth splashing out a little extra on.

Who is it for

Couples looking for a little romance, a little history and a lot of luxury. The overall vibe is very grown-up, ideal for stylish couples, less so for families with children. Under-6s are not allowed.

Facilities & activities

The hotel’s La Sponda restaurant is Michelin-starred, unbelievably romantic and an absolute must. The rooftop bar Franco's provides a hip spot for sundowners. The enchanting pool terrace is perfect for sun loungers. Two onsite boutiques mean you don’t have to leave the premises to shop for some Amalfi chic. Plus there’s a small but superb spa.
