Exclusive Formula 1 Driving Holiday in Portugal

Czech former F1 driver Tomas Enge will be coaching eight people how to drive a Formula 1 car. It’s part of an exclusive four-day holiday to Portugal, 20 – 23 September 2023.

We had advance notice of this unique experience and with only eight places available, thought you deserved to know about it.

F1 Driving Experience & Algarve

From 20 – 23 September 2023 you’ll drive Formula Renault 2.0 and Formula 1 cars on the Portimao Circuit in the Algarve. You’ll also spend a day cruising the Algarve coast on a luxury yacht, and enjoy three nights at VILA VITA Parc Resort & Spa.

The trip is organised by our partners, automotive travel design experts Ricard & Bonette. They can create full-day Formula 1 driving experiences on different European circuits, with a choice of original Formula 1 cars.

This four-day experience is extra special thanks to Tomas Enge, the only Czech person to ever drive in Formula 1. Driving a Formula 1 car is a once-in-a-lifetime feeling. Being coached by somebody like Tomas elevates the entire experience further.

You could also spend a night or two in Lisbon, or perhaps the enchanting region of Alentejo. Portugal has some stunning lesser-known places we can tell you about.

Specific Details of the Formula 1 Driving Experience

The exclusive highlight is of course the Formula 1 track day with Tomas Enge, so let’s explore the specifics of your experience.

Portimao hosted the Portuguese Grand Prix in 2020 and 2021. It also hosts the first MotoGP race of the 2023 season. The 4.6 kilometre circuit has 15 corners and is technically very demanding, which is why it’s so crucial to have a real Formula 1 driver coaching you.

Along with his Formula 1 exploits, Tomas Enge has so many stories about life as a professional racing driver, from Le Mans to winning races in the GT1 World Championship.

During the morning you’ll receive a lot of tuition in driving techniques and do two 15-minute stints in a Formula Renault 2.0.

After lunch, analysis and more coaching, it’s time to get behind the wheel of the same car driven by Tomas Enge for Prost, in the 2001 season.

It’s equipped with a Cosworth HB V8 3.5litre engine, producing 650 horsepower at 12,000 revs.

Included in the package is five laps around the Portimao Circuit. You can increase the number of laps if you wish. This is a mentally and physically demanding experience – but wow, what an experience!
