One of the world’s most glamorous hotels in a preposterously beautiful setting that has to be seen to be believed. A real ‘wow’ stay for holidaying couples with cash to splash.
Stay at San Pietro di Positano
Much like the verdant vines that cover many of its walls, the Il San Pietro di Positano has grown in stages almost organically across the cliffside, evolving and blossoming over five decades of operation into one of the world’s very finest luxury establishments.Almost completely hidden from the roadside, the sheer beauty – and drama – of Il San Pietro di Positano can only truly be witnessed from the water. While the hotel has grown in size and renown over the years, this bastion of uber-luxury remains at its heart what it has been from the very start – a family-run hotel with a passion for immaculate service.
Location
Carved into the sheer rock face of a cliff overlooking the enchanting town of Positano. Too far to walk but just a short jaunt to town on the complimentary shuttle. Or even more stylishly a short but highly enjoyable journey in a boat transfer.
Rooms
57 fabulously stylish one-bedroom rooms tumbling down the cliffside all of which come with extraordinary sea views and their very own private outside space as standard. The entry-level rooms are a little cosy for some at just 25m2, so we recommend choosing at least a level higher.
Who is it for
Glam hunters who like their hotels to feel like James Bond could saunter past at any moment, martini in hand. Couples looking for the absolute pinnacle of luxury romance. Under 10s are not allowed, so the vibe is decidedly grown-up.
Facilities & activities
The Michelin-starred Zass restaurant serves its meals on a ridiculously romantic sea-facing terrace. Should heights be an issue, the Carlino restaurant has a less vertiginous beachside setting. A gym that shares its space with a lemon orchard. Tennis courts. Amazing terraced gardens. A slightly underwhelming spa.
