And not another soul for miles upon miles of ocean, unless you count the giant wild tortoises ambling past. Welcome to a petite private island called Cousine. Think Robinson Crusoe but with a personal butler and a private masseuse – oh, and a helicopter standing by.
Location
Remote. Transfers are usually by private catamaran or yacht. Cousine Island is 90 minutes from Mahe and 25 minutes from Praslin, but you can arrive from any island in the country.
Rooms
Cousine is usually only available as an island buyout, so you have your own private island with five villas. Each villa has ocean views, an infinity pool and beach access. The villas are a little dated but the luxury is having an island, not just a villa.

Large families and groups of friends. You’ll find space to do your own thing while sharing a private island with the people you love.
Facilities & activities
This is all about the Robinson Crusoe remote island experience. Don’t expect too many great facilities, but the exclusivity of beaches, snorkelling sites, birdwatching and excursions on a yacht.
