New Flight Routes from Prague
Note that many of these new flights are operated by low-cost airlines.

Florence
Volotea starts flying between Prague and Florence on 22nd March 2024.
There are two flights per week until early November, on Fridays and Mondays. Flight times are excellent for a long weekend in the city of Florence, or the surrounding Tuscany.
Depart Prague 12:10 on a Friday, arrive back in Prague at 20:00 on Monday.
Location helps to make Portrait Firenze a good hotel choice for an action-packed city weekend. For more tranquillity and opulence go for Villa San Michele, A Belmond Hotel outside the city.
Verona
Volotea is also initiating a route between Prague and the fair city of Verona, from late March to early November.
Depart Prague 20:45 on a Friday. The return flight leaves Verona at 06:00 on a Monday.
Verona is a charming little city. It’s also well located for discovering Lake Garda to the north, or Emilia Romagna to the south.
Brindisi, Puglia
SmartWings is adding a direct connection between Prague and Puglia, a region in Southern Italy we selected as one of 2022’s hottest summer destinations.
Flights are on Mondays and Thursdays from June through September. They depart Prague at 19:20 with the return flight departing Brindisi at 22:20.
We love Borgo Egnazia as a base for families to explore the entire Puglia region. We can personally recommend some boutique “masserias” for couples, like Masseria Torre Maizza.
Masserias are Puglia’s fortified rural estates, now transformed into boutique hotels with exceptional food and services.
Catania, Sicily
Direct flights to Sicily are not new for Prague, but there’s a significant increase in volume that firmly establishes Sicily as a year-round destination.
There are four to six flights per week throughout winter, plus additional options during the summer months. These flights are to Catania, which is close to the enchanting resort town of Taormina. Here there is a sublime choice of top hotels, like Grand Hotel Timeo and San Domenica Palace.
As EliteVoyage CEO Petr Udavský discovered in December, Sicily is a great destination for a sun-filled holiday, outside the summer.
Azores, Portugal
Thanks to a direct flight connection, the Portuguese island of Madeira quickly became a popular destination for Czechs. Stepan Borovec checked it out in April 2023.
Now SmartWings is launching direct flights between Prague and Ponta Delgada airport on the Azores islands.
Flights are on Tuesdays and Fridays, from late April through early November.
The volcanic Azores are an archipelago in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, defined by spectacular nature. They are not islands for a beach holiday, rather destination for exploring the outdoors.
Agadir, Morocco
Eurowings has the first direct connection to Morocco. While we don’t recommend Agadir itself, there are great adventures to enjoy in the nearby area, especially for surf and music fans.
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
From mid June you can fly directly to Saudi Arabia on twice weekly flights with Flynas. From Riyadh you can then fly domestic to upcoming destinations like Alula and new resorts on the Red Sea.
We expect this to be the first of many connections to Saudi Arabia, a destination travel designer Matous Grund explored in 2022. We expect to see direct flights to the Red Sea destinations in 2025.
Sevilla, Spain
Sevilla in Andalucia is a great destination for some winter warmth. Ryanair provides the flight connection on Saturdays and Tuesdays.
It’s a destination for enjoying Spanish culture, the city where tapas, flamenco and other iconic Spanish things originate.
Other New Flight Routes from Prague
Since July 2023, China Airlines has operated twice weekly flights between Prague and Taipei.
EasyJet is introducing a route between Prague and Mallorca, increasing the choice of flights to an already well served island.
Summer 2024 will also bring additional choice of flights between Prague and Alicante, Athens, London, Nice and Valencia.
Interesting Flight Routes to Remember for 2024
These seasonal flights are not new but can be interesting for a 2024 holiday. Many have increased in frequency or extended their season for 2024.
New York
From May 10th, Delta Airlines will be flying daily between Prague and New York (JFK).
Helsinki
FinnAir now has two to three daily flights to the Finnish capital, throughout winter.
Iceland
After last year’s successful launch, IcelandAir will continue flying between Prague and Reykjavik (Keflavik) four times per week throughout summer.
Doha
Since July last year, Qatar Airways has had both a morning and afternoon flight out of Prague on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The afternoon flight operates every day.
Seoul
Flights with KoreanAir are now three times per week in winter and four times a week in summer.
New & Interesting Flights from Vienna
Austrian Airlines is really expanding its operations and a number of long and short haul destinations are easily accessible through Vienna.
Maldives
Austrian Airlines flies four times per week direct to Malé, up until the middle of April. Flights depart Vienna in the evening, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Returning from Male in the morning, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Mauritius
Three seasonal flights per week until early April, departing Vienna in the evening on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Return flights are morning departures on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Rovaniemi and Kittila, Finland
Austrian Airlines have started direct flights to Lapland, perfect for a winter holiday in the snow, with good skiing. Note these only operate on Saturdays until mid-March.
Ancona, Italy
A new flight with AeroItalia to Italy’s Adriatic Coast.
USA & Canada
With Austrian Airlines there are multiple flights per week from Vienna to Chicago, New York, Newark, Washington and Montreal.
Asia
Shanghai and Bangkok are both Austrian Airlines routes that will continue throughout the year.
Addis Ababa and Abu Dhabi
These routes now operate daily, increasing connection possibilities to destinations across Africa and the East.
