Tschuggen Grand Hotel Arosa

The service is great. This is not a place for those who love amazing design, but if your focus is on comfort, great views and skiing (or hiking), and many restaurant options, you will probably be happy with the Tschuggen. And you will probably like the Tschuggen Express.

Stay at Tschuggen Grand Hotel

Let’s face it: the exterior of Tschuggen Grand Hotel is not a design award contender. And the interiors are also questionable — their colourful and eclectic decor is certainly not to everyone's taste. However, you will have access to hundreds of kilometres of ski pistes, to four restaurants — including Michelin-starred La Vetta — and to a remarkable spa.

Location

You can get here from Zurich airport in 2h15 hours by car. The Arosa town centre is a five-minute drive or a 15-minute walk from the hotel.

Rooms

The decor is contemporary and eclectic. Some rooms have views onto the hotel’s buildings, so if you don’t care to look at what resembles Sydney’s Opera House stranded on a Swiss slope, take care to book a room with a mountain view instead. If you need family accommodations, you can get interconnecting rooms.

Who is it for

This is a good option for families as well as adults. All the restaurants have children’ menus, and there’s a kids’ club and a day nursery.

Facilities & activities

The hotel’s private Tschuggen Express is an extraordinary rollercoaster of a shuttle, beginning 30 metres from the ski-room door and climbing up a steep slope to deliver you to the resort’s centre within two minutes. Another highlight is the spa, an impressive 460m² area featuring pools, sauna, steam rooms, Clarins treatments and a lot besides.
