Suvretta House St. Moritz

The service is amazing. Suvretta House is similar to Badrutt’s in terms of luxury, style and price, so the difference really comes down to the locations and activities — do you prefer skiing, or partying and shopping in St. Moritz?

Stay at Suvretta

Imagine a large Belle Époque hotel in a serene mountain spot, where modern amenities don’t spoil the vintage ambience. Here, besides winter skiing and summer hiking, you also get living history and timeless charm. If you love old-fashioned grand hotels, and want to lodge away from the bustle of St. Moritz, Suvretta House is just the place.

Location

A scenic 40-minute walk will take you to the very centre of St. Moritz, but you can also take the vintage hotel shuttle to get there. Ski-wise it’s a great location — this is one of the few ski-in ski-out hotels in St. Moritz.

Rooms

You can choose from 181 rooms, with views of the mountains, lake or ski pistes. They range from single rooms to suites. There are also interconnecting rooms.

Who is it for

Suvretta House can receive families as well as couples — it has a kids’ club and play area, and a separate restaurant for children. However, the whole hotel feels quite formal, so if your youngsters are on the noisy side, you probably won't feel comfortable here.

Facilities & activities

The three hotel restaurants are great, but the one you can’t miss is the Grand Restaurant — you must book it in advance, and gentlemen are required to wear a dark suit and tie. In winter, there’s an ice-skating rink and private ski-school. In summer, you can play tennis in the hotel’s courts, hike amid stunning mountain views and sail on the lake.
