A roundup of the new direct flight routes from Prague and Vienna, and all the holiday opportunities they bring.
New Flights Routes From Prague
Iceland
Icelandair debuted at Prague Airport this month, with four direct flights per week to Keflavik International Airport.
Iceland was our #4 top travel trend of 2022 and its popularity will soar with these direct connections. These Iceland summer holiday itineraries will give you an idea of what’s possible, depending on the time you have.
USA
Direct Prague to New York flights resumed in May 2023 and will continue until October.
Icelandair has direct connections to 14 US cities. The new regular flights between Prague and Keflavik open an excellent new route to the states.
Combine Iceland with one or two destinations in the USA. It’s an easy holiday of amazing contrasts.
Asia
After three quiet years through the pandemic, direct flights from Prague to Asia have finally resumed.
Korean Air fly three times per week to Seoul, where there are good connections to Japan, Thailand and other Asian destinations.
Starting July 18th is a regular service from Prague to Taiwan with China Airlines.
Croatia
Croatia Airlines now fly to Prague, with weekly flights to Dubrovnik and twice-weekly flights to Split.
Croatia is evolving as a more luxury destination. From either of these coastal cities you can explore the Dalmatian Coast on a private yacht, or discover new properties like Maslina Resort.
Spain
Eurowings has increased the frequency of flights to Barcelona, Malaga and Alicante.
From July, Vueling will operate twice weekly flights to Bilbao, opening up the Basque region. It’s one of our favourite destinations and was previously only really accessible from the Czech Republic by private jet.
A new flight route between Prague and Sevilla is also interesting, especially for holidays in the autumn. Sevilla is the gateway to Andalusia, where it feels like summer all the way until Christmas.
Other New Flight Options From Prague
Direct flights between Prague and Muscat, Oman, have been operational since November 2022. Previously, Prague only had connections with Salalah in Southern Oman.
Oman is a gem of a country, where you can luxury wild camp in the sand dunes and enjoy excellent new beach resorts.
Eurowings has increased the frequency of flights to Geneva, Athens, Corfu, Stockholm and Copenhagen.
From Prague there’s now more choice of flights to London, Paris, Amsterdam and Antalya too.
New Flights From Vienna
Air India returns to Vienna, with three weekly flights to Delhi. India has evolved immensely over the last ten years and is now a genuine luxury destination.
Austrian Airways has resumed direct flights to Tokyo and Los Angeles. These routes open even more distant destinations, such as Hawaii.
A number of other key long-haul routes have returned, after the pandemic. These include Bangkok, Shanghai, Montreal, Toronto, New York and Chicago.
Ethiopian Airlines now fly six days per week between Vienna and Addis Ababa. They have new aircraft with excellent business class and while there’s not much at Addis Ababa Airport, the business lounge is really good.
Using Ethiopian can be the fastest and most convenient way to reach Africa’s best safari destinations, in Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda.
