Mandarin Oriental, Geneva

This large Mandarin Oriental hotel isn’t for everybody. The service is flawless and there’s the familiarity of the hotel brand. It’s best for people who prefer larger hotels, perfect if you’re looking for spacious two-bedroom suites. Just note that there is no spa. And opt for a different city hotel if you want a boutique stay and direct Jet d'Eau views.

Stay at MO Geneva

Though it opened soon after the Second World War, this hotel was renovated and refurbished in the last 20 years. As a result, it’s much more contemporary than the classic Beau-Rivage and the Four Seasons.Apart from the name, there isn’t much of the Orient about the Mandarin Oriental — it’s a modern hotel in a Belle Époque building.

Location

The Mandarin Oriental is a 15-minute drive from the airport. This is not a lakefront hotel, but it’s on the bank of the River Rhone, and a ten-minute walk from the historical centre of Geneva.

Rooms

Choose from almost 200 rooms, ranging from basic (which can feel a bit bland) to spacious suites, including family rooms and 2-bedroom suites. Decor is contemporary, and the colour patterns vary. We recommend you get a room with a river view.

Who is it for

The Mandarin Oriental is perfect for larger parties — it’s not easy to find multi-bedroom suites in Geneva, so this is a big plus. You can also get interconnecting rooms.

Facilities & activities

This hotel has no spa, but there’s a fitness centre and a beauty studio. The restaurant serves Indian cuisine, and you will find modern French dishes and health-conscious food in the café.
