Bürgenstock Resort & Alpine Spa

There are options for many tastes and budgets in the resort. But if you are in doubt, we recommend you stay at the Burgenstock Hotel. Jaw-dropping views. Trust us.

Stay at Bürgenstock

The Burgenstock Resort comprises 4 hotels — the Burgenstock Hotel, the Palace Hotel, the Waldhotel and the Taverne 1879. The resort underwent a comprehensive renovation in 2017, and everything is up-to-date and fresh. The Burgenstock Hotel offers incredible lake views and one of the world’s most scenic spas (trust us). The Palace Hotel is more historical, and not uber luxurious. The Waldhotel emphasizes nature and wellbeing — its decor includes a lot of wood, and the hotel focuses on sustainability and offers many treatments and detox programmes. The Taverne 1879 is a traditional rustical chalet, which feels like an Alpine cottage.

Location

The resort is on the hills above Lake Lucerne. It’s one hour away from Zurich Airport and three hours from Geneva Airport. From Lucerne, you can drive — or take the boat, then the funicular.

Rooms

Each hotel has a different version of contemporary décor, from snug to serene to grand. Suites and rooms have views on the lake or the wooded mountains around.

Who is it for

The Burgenstock is amazing for everyone, couples and families. If you do bring your children, there’s a family spa, a kids’ club, and many outdoor activities — including farm time at the nearby Szep Farm, where kids can approach and watch the famous Swiss cows.

Facilities & activities

Guests can access 12 restaurants across the four hotels. The spa is one of the highlights here. The 10,000 square metre Alpine Spa on three floors offers everything the wellness heart desires: five pools, 13 treatment rooms, a Spa Garden, the ultra-modern 200 m² fitness area and even its hairdressing salon with spa boutique.
