Lux* Grand Baie Resort & Residences has just opened in Mauritius.
You may already know Lux* Grand Gaube, Lux* Belle Mare, or Lux* South Ari Atoll in the Maldives. They’re always popular among our clients: modern five-star resorts, on the beach and generally very well priced. Not too fancy, but good five-star standard and amenities suitable for just about everyone.

Lux* Grand Baie Resort & Residences is significantly smaller and more boutique in style. Even so, there are still 86 junior suites and 30 villas, so it’s far from the most intimate Mauritius resort.
This is the brand’s new flagship property and it’s only been open a week. We haven’t visited it yet so we can’t offer our opinion. However, it’s certainly an interesting option for a 2022 Mauritius holiday.
The three highest category accommodations are the most interesting, all of which come with a private butler service. Spread across 325㎡, Lux* Pool Penthouses have three bedrooms, a private pool, living and dining room.
Lux* Pool Villas also have a private pool and sundeck, with two bedrooms and 230㎡ of space.
There is only one Lux* Grand Beach Pool Villa, with three bedrooms and an outdoor terrace on the beach. It comes with its own chef.
In general, we find Lux* properties are best for families. At Grand Baie, there is a Lux* Juniors Play program is for kids aged three to 12 years.
We don’t know the property but we do know the location. It’s down the beach from Royal Palm Beachcomber, in the far north of the island.
