Le Telfair is a nice French-colonial-style resort on the Mauritian coast, that’s amazing for golfers and also a good option for families or couples wanting an all inclusive beach holiday.
Stay at Heritage Le Telfair
An invigorating yet intimate escape awaits you at the colonial-inspired Heritage Le Telfair, where luxury is quaint and the vibe reminiscent. Explore plantation-style architecture, in this French village-like resort. Enjoy lazy mornings sprawled by the pool, or vibrant beach afternoons toes dug in the sand. Or on the golf course that was voted the best in the Indian Ocean. The service is good and the atmosphere makes for a lovely holiday experience. Don’t consider staying at sister resort Awali next door - it’s a level below Le Telfair.
Location
Situated in the southwest of Mauritius, the property enjoys a coastal position along a narrow sandy stretch. It’s a one-hour transfer from the airport. The surrounding nature is simply divine, and a quaint white bridge over the river leads to a tropical infinity pool or directly to the sea.
Rooms
Designed in colonial style, the hotel’s 158 rooms and suites are generous in size, and offer floor to ceiling French windows, private balconies and river or ocean views. We like the intimate character of the resort and the speedy butler service that comes with every room. Interconnecting rooms are available for families and beachfront suites the best choice for couples.
Who is it for
Golfers primarily. The resort is home to the best golf course in the Indian Ocean, and a second equally picturesque 18 holes. We’ve also had couples and families staying here and the feedback has always been very positive.
Facilities & activities
The compound comprises two pools, a PADI dive centre, sensual spa and the two golf courses. Watersports are plentiful, and the hotel even has its own kitesurfing school. Guests can also utilise facilities at neighbouring 4* Heritage Awali but we absolutely don’t recommend staying here There are some good all-inclusive options to consider, offering access to the 12 different restaurants.
