Stay at Aurora Safari Camp
Prepare to encounter the Swedish Lapland like you’ve never seen it before. At Aurora Safari Camp, the setting is unspoiled but that’s not all. This is the world’s first glamp-site catering to the arctic winter, where you can be one with the wilderness from the comfort of a Sami tent.Nestle within untamed forest, with rivers, lakes and mountains as your neighbours. Get lost in these breathtaking views after a session at the sauna. Let the elements serenade with unexpected sounds. Days are spent gallivanting with Siberian huskies or snowshoeing in search of reindeers; the evenings reserved for stories round the campfire. Snuggle with your loved ones under soft blankets, as the Milky Way puts on a show above.
This is a truly unique base in the heart of Lapland. Nestled on the banks of the Rane River, the luxury is in the location, and what a magical location it is to experience. Expect ample opportunities to husky sled, snowmobile and spot stunning Aurora, of course.
Scattered amid trees facing an iced-over lake, stays take the shape of traditional Lavvu tents, a type of Nordic Tipi. Supplying the charms of an African safari camp to the arctic circle, interiors are fire-heated, with special sleeping bags and highly comfy beds.
Who is it for
The camp’s off-grid position makes it the perfect place of bonding for couples, families or friends. Tents can be adapted to fit up to five. Or you could even book the site out in its entirety, ensuring a level of seclusion that’s utterly hard to beat.
Facilities & activities
Alongside accommodation, there is a communal tent housing a snug lounge and bar. A classic-style sauna and ice pool are also nearby. Guests are treated to three meals a day, which emphasise local cuisine. Meanwhile, a wealth of activities await at your doorstep, from fatbiking, photography, ice sculpting or fishing galore.
