Location

Andaz Papagayo is nestled on Culebra Bay, just along the cliffs from the better known Four Seasons Papagayo. This destination is Costa Rica’s most exclusive beach hangout, mostly thanks to the blissfully natural environment. Two small beaches await beneath the property. They’re wonderful for swimming and snorkelling but note that they disappear at high tide.

Rooms

Architect Ronald Zurcher’s room design is one of the main reasons to stay here. The cocoons are full of space and light, with floor-to-ceiling windows showcasing Culebra Bay. Rainfall showers and broad balconies are just two of their highlights, although there are no private pools.

Who is it for

A great property if you’re looking for something a little different, but still with a feeling of familiarity. There’s a kid’s club and plenty of activities for children, but also enough privacy for couples.

Facilities & activities

Three small restaurants. Craft beer and funky cocktails. Children’s activities and yacht charters for exploring the coast. Of the two infinity pools one is adult’s only. The nine-room spa is a standout in Costa Rica. Throw in scuba diving, fishing, sunset boating, and even a golf course - this is a beach hangout with everything you need for a week or more.
