This is one of the best big high-end resorts and we love how it is spread over two islands, so there are good options for both families and couples. It really is a playground, whether you’re dancing in the SUBSIX underwater nightclub, or using the kids club. Niyama is also good for "surfing" - very rare for Maldives luxury resorts!
Stay at Niyama
A playground for both adults and children, Niyama Private Islands offers high-end chic on a big scale. While it may be one of the country’s largest resorts, there’s superb attention to detail and an undeniable sense of island chic.Two islands are split between “play” and “chill” so each day can mould to your mood. Think underground dining to swimming with turtles, private beach time to spa hours and some of the country’s only surfing. Or think indulgence and privacy in your private villa.
Location
Soar over the Indian Ocean on a 40-minute seaplane flight from Male, or alternatively a speedboat transfer from Dhaalu. Niyama is deep in nature, with dolphins aplenty.
Rooms
Villas are built over the water or have direct beach access. There are beach studios with private plunge pools, along with a variety of studios, suites and pavilions. All villas have their own personal butler to arrange your day.
Who is it for
Everyone. This is one of the largest and most varied Maldives resorts and can be a playground for adults. Children under 11 go free and there’s a kids club, so it’s great for families.

Niyama has just about everything. Surfing, snorkeling, live music, yoga, spa, paddle boarding, private boat trips and so much more. Oh, there’s also the world’s first underwater nightclub.
