Unwind and explore at this jewel of a safari lodge in Eastern Kruger, where glamorous luxury meets the beauty of wild safari. Singita Sweni is stylish, romantic and ideal as your second safari destination.
Stay at Singita Sweni Lodge
Step, step, step, you walk past the zebra. Silence. Elephants loom in the distance and you can see a buffalo herd. Keep walking to a picnic spot, next to a pool of hippos, an indigenous guide keeping you safe. This is a different close-up safari, an opportunity to find your own wildlife perspective. It’s also a very contemporary expression of luxury, a glamorous and small-scale lodge. Whether it’s by the pool, deep in the bush, on foot or during a game drive, Singita Sweni celebrates wild Africa while also meeting every demand for comfort.
Location
Along with its sister property Singita Lebombo, Singita Sweni is a real getaway, located in a private concession in the under-visited bushveld of eastern Kruger. It’s the opposite side of Kruger to the famous Sabi Sands. Here the landscape is savannah grassland with low arid hills, ideal for a variety of safe, safari activities. It’s fastest to fly here by light aircraft, although you can do a full-day game drive from Sabi Sands to Singita Sweni.
Rooms
Singita is one of Africa’s most revered brands, known for blending wildlife experience with very contemporary luxury. Just seven suites are hidden among a canopy of trees, with bold open-plan interiors, outdoor showers, two bathrooms, and beautiful outdoor spaces for watching the wilderness.
Who is it for
This sophisticated small-scale lodge is best for couples with a two-destination safari program. It’s a lovely and romantic place, where you can try new activities and do much more than the classic big five. Families are better suited at the nearby Singita Lebombo lodge, which has two-bedroom family suites and the mini rangers program.
Facilities & activities
All of Singita’s South Africa lodges are great at entertaining contrasting moods, expectations and demands. Sweni’s location reveals both a diversity and abundance of big game, perfect as a second stop on safari, after you’ve done a famous big-five safari somewhere like the Sabi Sands. The activities are exceptional because you’re not confined to a vehicle, particularly the walking and biking safaris.
