Location

A 30 minute drive from Lisbon airport and close to the UNESCO world heritage site of Sintra, this is a hotel set very close to the majestic Pena palace and just on the cusp of the natural park of Sintra-Cascais. Its location would suit those of you who love peace and quiet but want access to the bright lights of Lisbon and Sintra.

Rooms

Just 29 of them. Period furniture, deep baths, silk furnishings, there’s nothing but quality in the rooms. They are however of a certain style that would suit those of you who love old world grandeur. If you’re looking for modernity, you’re not going to find it here.

Who is it for

This is definitely a hotel for adults, ideally ones that are into history, old school charm and polished service. Kids are welcome but might have more fun elsewhere.

Facilities & activities

On site activities are limited but charming nonetheless. There’s an outdoor pool set into a pretty garden complete with roaming peacocks and a brand new spa. The restaurant does a nice line in Portuguese classic cuisine that is hard not to love. A private Champagne dinner amongst the frescos can be arranged.
