Royal Champagne Hotel & Spa

Elegance, relaxation and incredible dining experiences await you at this light-filled, thoughtfully presented hotel. You are in Champagne and this hotel wants you to know it, so expect peaceful surroundings and plenty of popped corks.

Stay at Royal Champagne

Vineyards, vineyards, everywhere. You’re looking down on Champagne as the cork pops. Soon you’re wandering past vines with a glass in hand. A sleek spa awaits. Another bottle awaits. The everyday world disappears as you settle into the Royal Champagne Hotel and Spa. This former coaching inn has been reimagined by architect Giovanni Pace of Moet & Chandon fame. His dedication to celebrating the grape is visible everywhere, from the twisted grapevines on the walls to the muted Champagne coloured interiors.Gaze down on famous vines and villages as you enjoy breakfast on your private terrace. Leave the thought of last night’s imbibing behind (this is Champagne after all) as you soak in one of the hotel’s two swimming pools and indulge in a treatment or two before heading to dine at the hotel’s famed restaurant complete with excellent Champagne list.

Location

Just 25 minutes from Reims or under 2 hours from Paris, the Royal Champagne Hotel and Spa sits perched high on a hill in the Champagne countryside. Its rooms overlook the village of Hautvillers, one of the most famous villages of Champagne and the burial site of Dom Perignon.

Rooms

Every room overlooks vineyards and features private terraces perfect for sipping Champagne made just feet from your door. Bathrooms have limestone basins, a nod to the famous Champagne soil and a nice touch that connects the hotel to its rural surroundings, as do the natural textures of the interiors.

Who is it for

Children are welcome for sure, but this is a decidedly adult hotel, perfect for couples who want a get-away-from-it-all vacation filled with Champagne, spa treatments and incredible dining experiences.

Facilities & activities

The highlight has to go be the hotel’s spa, with its vast range of treatments and indoor and outdoor pool. There are other ways to treat yourself here too, including electric bikes so you can fly through the famous vineyards. And let’s not forget the hotel’s restaurant and wine cellars. Food is overseen by Jean-Denis Rieubland, previously of two star Le Negresco in Nice. The wine cellars house an impressive list of local wines including plenty of the bubbly stuff. Finally, visits to prestigious Champagne houses can be arranged as standard.
