Private chalets will be the way to go for the 2021 – 2022 ski season in Zermatt, Switzerland. We’ve found three new properties, all perfect for exploring slopes beneath the Matterhorn.
Plan My Ski Holiday
All come with Champagne, dedicated staff, gourmet meals, plus floor-to-ceiling windows with glorious views onto the Matterhorn.
Chalet Jacquelin
Catered. Sleeps 10 + 2.
Two minutes from the Express lift, this chic south-facing chalet is ideal for groups of close family and friends. Five en-suite double bedrooms make up the second floor, with a lounge, cinema room, dining room and games room upstairs. The dramatic vaulted interior is quite a statement and the finishing is of the highest quality throughout. There’s a lovely outdoor jacuzzi with a view, along with a fully equipped spa.
Spa Chalet Zuna
Sleeps 10 + 3.
It’s rare to find such an extensive private spa in a ski chalet with only five bedrooms: hammam, two saunas, indoor and outdoor jacuzzis, plus in-house massage therapist. Oh, and this chalet comes with a personalised menu cooked by a former Michelin-starred chef. It’s inclusive of all drinks, including alcohol, and access to the wine cellar. Spread over six floors, this is a spacious and glamorous property located just above Zermatt village.
Chalet La Taniere
Sleeps 16 + 5.
The best large Zermatt chalet to open in 2020, with seven bedrooms and direct access to the slopes. Compared to Jacquelin and Zuna this is less of a statement property. But it’s still very high spec and comfortable, even if you have smaller children running around. A second lounge can convert into an eighth bedroom, with the main open-plan entertaining space on the vaulted upper floor. This is genuine ski-in ski-out, with a spa waiting for your snowy return.
