Best Ski Hotels & Chalets in the Alps

Celebrating the very best places to stay for a ski holiday in the Alps. Places we always want to return to and heartily recommend.

This is why we love Hotel La Perla, Ultima Courchevel, Schlosshotel Fiss, Das Central Solden, Tschuggen Grand Arosa and Hotel Pashmina La Refuge.

Schlosshotel Fiss, Austria

The slope access is sublime and the spa is one of the best in the world. Schlosshotel Fiss finds the perfect balance between Tyrolean tradition and a laid back atmosphere, with the highest quality and luxury our clients demand.

This is an adored favourite among our clients because it ticks all the boxes and has easy ski-in ski-out access.

This is a great ski base you can drive to in Austria, or it’s only a 70-minute transfer from Innsbruck.

Four Seasons Hotel Megeve, France

Four Seasons Megeve brings the brand’s typical high standards to a secluded location just outside the glamorous ski destination.

Large windows frame the undisturbed Alps, contemporary comforts dominate the interiors and remote heli skiing adventures await.

This is a trusted choice for families and couples alike, with a wealth of facilities and everything you expect from Four Seasons.

Ultima Courchevel, France

Courchevel has many fine properties, from the iconic Cheval Blanc to a newer hotspot like L’Apogee. While Cheval Blanc is undoubtedly one of the world’s best alpine hotels, we want to share a more boutique and exclusive option here, opened in 2021.

Where are you Skiing This Winter?

Ultima Courchevel Belvedere consists of only 13 ski-in ski-out residences and a world-class spa. Butlers, chauffeurs, personal chefs…these residences are made for families and friends coming together.

Each residence has either four or five bedrooms, sleeping eight to ten adults. You have the privacy of a private chalet, with the amenities and service of a top five-star property.

Hotel La Perla, Italy

Hotel La Perla

This mountain manor is our favourite ski property in all of Italy. It’s also one of the few genuine ski-in ski-out properties in the entire Dolomites.

Hotel La Perla is a lovely family-run hotel suitable for all ages, with individually designed rooms, exceptional cuisine and access to the entire Dolomite Superski area.

Milan-Cortina will host the 2026 Winter Olympics and we expect most Dolomites resorts to see serious construction and development throughout 2024 and 2025. So if you want to ski in Italy, stay at Hotel La Perla and do it for the 2022-2023 season.

Hotel Pashmina Le Refuge, Val Thorens

While Courchevel offers opulence and glamour aplenty, Val Thorens is a better destination for more serious skiers. And Hotel Pashmina Le Refuge is on the level of Courchevel’s best.

An incredible ski-in ski-out location, two outstanding restaurants, then a variety of rooms, suites, homes and chalet apartments to suit all types of visitor.

If you’re in the Alps to ski we really recommend this hotel in the Alps. It’s great for families as well, especially the cosy homes.

Tschuggen Grand Arosa, Switzerland

This beautifully located hotel ticks most of the boxes. Access to hundreds of kilometres of ski pistes. Four good restaurants, including one with two Michelin stars. A serene and well equipped spa. Easy access to the slopes.

Don’t come here for design. But if your focus is on comfort, great views and skiing, Tschuggen Grand Hotel is a great choice.

The hotel exterior won’t win any awards and the interiors are a little questionable. Where Tschuggen Grand Arosa really delivers is on the service, which is consistently top notch.

Das Central Solden, Austria

It may surprise you that one of the best luxury hotels in the Alps is located in Austria. Das Central Solden is right up there and it’s drivable from the Czech Republic.

Parts of James Bond Spectre were shot here and the guest experience is a little like a cinematic masterpiece, from spa indulgence to the endless views.

Das Central is beautifully located in Solden in Austria’s Otztal Valley, a snow-sure ski resort that is finally receiving the international acclaim it deserves.

Your Next Ski Holiday?

These seven ski lodges and hotels are our favourites but we know many more as well. At EliteVoyage we personally inspect properties, so we can give you tailored advice and plan the holiday that’s best for you. We also know many great private chalet options across the Alps.
