Kronplatz, South Tyrol.

Introducing Falkensteiner Kronplatz

First let’s get comfortable. This new, adult-only five-star resort is the flagship of the Falkensteiner hotel brand.

Located in Riscone, just a few steps from the Plan de Corones ski lifts, in the Dolomite mountains, Falkensteiner Kronplatz is a convenient and stylish place to rest your head.

Built only with natural materials, the hotel mixes South Tyrolean tradition with cool leisure amenities. Like a rooftop swimming pool. Turkish baths and more in the Acquapura Mountain Spa. A climbing wall that crosses the entire hotel.

What a place to spend the evening. Don’t you agree?

It’s fresh, youthful, creative, and probably different to your preconceptions if you already know the Falkensteiner brand. Kronplatz is part of the brand’s move towards premium five-star properties.

Take the hotel’s 7Summit restaurant, where the menu is inspired by typical dishes from seven high altitude regions: Japan, Argentina, Tibet, Peru, Alaska, Tanzania and South Tyrol.

Now Let’s Ski

Kronplatz looks like a dream. A cone-shaped mountain, a sharply pointed peak, 22 gondolas taking skiers to that cone. Elsewhere in the Dolomites the mountains are rough and rugged. Here they are smooth and conical.

Such terrain means both fast challenging runs and a wide range of blue and red runs across the plateau. In total there are some 116 kilometres of pistes and much of it best suits intermediates and beginners.

And Let’s Keep Exploring

Thanks to the great lift system and access to the Dolomiti Superski area, you can easily put together days of long, diverse skiing. From a Kronplatz base you have over 1000 kilometres of pistes to try. And at the top of the mountain you’ll find surprises like the Messner Mountain Museum.

A strange museum awaits at the top of the slopes.

While it’s not the trendiest place to go skiing, Kronplatz has superb facilities, a great new hotel, and prices that will really surprise you.

So where are you skiing this winter? It’s definitely not too late to book and go.

Did you know Kronplatz is also a summer destination?
