Mamounia Hotel

Laced in legend and tradition, this Arab palace-style complex is a Marrakech grande dame. It’s the city’s most iconic property, with the expected top quality to match.

Stay at Mamounia Hotel

Arrive at La Mamounia to smiling faces, and hands that supply a hot towel or two. Dates and almond milk revive from the journey, as you are eagerly led to your Exceptional Suite. From the balcony, Koutoubia’s minaret rises majestically. The sky prepares for a milky end of day. It’s a scene too good to pass on, so you spontaneously freshen up and get dressed. The taxi door waits open, as you pass carved woodwork, native tilework and intricate stucco. Wave goodbye to geometric patterns, for the vibrance of Djemaa el-Fna comes next. Night is the best time to explore this treasure, as you bear witness to the market pulsate. And once you’ve had your fill of evening action, the magically-lit hotel gardens expect you.

Location

Primely sat within the Hivernage neighbourhood, the resort is just outside the ancient Medina. The drive to Djemaa el-Fna or Gueliz are both 10 minutes. Meanwhile, 17 acres of ornate gardens border and provide a welcome respite from the outer hubbub.

Rooms

The estate gives way to 135 rooms, 71 suites and three marvellous three-bedroom riads. Deluxe Rooms offer balconies with garden-view choices, but the higher up you go, the more lavish the abode. Interiors feature rich Moroccan details and subtle Art Deco vibes.

Who is it for

Couples and urban escapees will adore the mood. Families with young children are also welcome, however the tone of the hotel is undeniably adult-geared.

Facilities & activities

Four on-site restaurants seek to satisfy all taste palettes, but Le Marocain undoubtedly steals the show. Beyond this, there are five bars, a mini shopping mall, indoor and outdoor pools, a fitness centre and a huge underground spa.
