With its spectacular design and wild island location, this is a very different type of property to what Croatia is known for. We love the boutique approach and original style, as well as the opportunity to explore a lesser explored archipelago.
Stay at Villa Nai 3.3
An island retreat built into an ancient organic olive grove, on a wild Mediterranean island. Dramatic cliff formations, remote bays, hidden islands and a new and exclusive hideaway called Villa Nai 3.3 There are just eight suites, uniquely carved into the rock, for a holiday in Croatia that’s different to the norm.
Location
Dugi Otok has only 2000 inhabitants and very little tourist infrastructure, located in an archipelago of 89 islands around Kornati National Park. It’s almost as if you’re staying on your own Mediterranean island. Split is the closest airport and you’ll need either a boat or helicopter transfer.
Rooms
Just eight luxurious suites carved into the hillside, at one with nature. Surrounded by olive groves and terracotta soil, it looks like something from Star Wars. The grotto feel and generous terraces exude a feeling of privacy. But it’s no cave. Marble bathrooms from Agape and furnishings from Giorgetti in Milan are noticeable features.
Who is it for
With its private feel and wild surroundings, this is very much an adult-focused property. Children aged over 12 are accepted. It’s romantic and quiet. It’s also a no smoking hotel. The location is perfect as a stop off when you have a Dalmatian yacht charter.
Facilities & activities
There’s a Finnish bio sauna, extensive spa facilities, a restaurant, and an olive farm for which Villa Nai 3.3 is named after - Nai 3.3 is their multi award-winning olive oil. The appeal is to do nothing on a wild, mesmerising island. But also take a day trip by boat onto the Adriatic coast.
