Our favourite place in the city alongside the Fairmont Pacific Rim, though the two estates could not be more different. However, Rosewood takes the lead in historical luxury. Even if you don’t stay here, we still recommend trying the Hawksworth restaurant.

Indulge in after-hours private shopping and tickets to the latest shows, with signature spa therapies alleviating all this gallivanting after. Wonderfully placed in the heart of downtown, Rosewood enjoys a position opposite Vancouver Art Gallery. The building itself boasts Art Deco heritage, having originally opened in 1927. Meanwhile, the airport is reachable in 25 minutes via the Canada Line.

Dressed in accents of vanilla, cocoa and marigold, the 156 stays here exude understated elegance. Twenties-style lamps and leather headboards resume the Art Deco theme, and even standard rooms offer large marble bathrooms and double soaker tubs.

Couples will relish the glitz and glamour of this renowned base. Despite its sultry vibe, the hotel does welcome families, with younger guests treated to welcome packs, child-sized robes and seasonal activities.
