Shared with both Paraguay and Bolivia, the Pantanal region is mesmerising and full of wild riches. Given its remoteness, we don’t generally recommend it for families with young children, especially those below the age of 10.
Stay at Caiman Pantanal

Location
Placed amid the pristine nature of Brazilian Pantanal, the refuge is located near the town of Miranda in Mato Grosso do Sul. Campo Grande Airport has more flight options but is a 3.5-hour drive, whilst Bonito Airport is less frequented but only 2.5-hours away.
Rooms
Accommodation is split between main lodge Casa Caiman, home to 18 suites with outdoor terrace and a capacity of 40, and the Private Villa which has 6 guest rooms and hosts up to 12 occupants. Both grant exquisite bay views alongside modern comforts.
Who is it for
This base is a dream come true for eco-enthusiasts, with raw magic similar to that of an African safari. Kids of any age are welcome in the Private Villa, but they have to be at least eight years old to stay in Casa Caiman.
Facilities & activities
A wealth of wilderness excursions lie at your fingertips, from 4x4 open vehicle safaris, to horseback riding, jaguar spotting and canoe tours. Facilities-wise, Casa Caiman fronts a restaurant, bar, living room, swimming pool and hammock area. The more exclusive Private Villa also provides a living room, dining room and swimming pool.
