Old world five-star service in an elegant building refreshed with contemporary design. A superb base for a few nights and a great alternative to another night onboard a cruise ship. Parents take note kids might be a little bored here – the vibe is quite grown up.
Stay at Palace Elisabeth
In the heart of the action but separate from the hustle. Overlooking the well-worn cobbles and lines of bobbing white yachts below. The sounds of summer revelry floating up to a terrace where you sink deeper into the plush sofa and the Adriatic sun warms your soul and reaffirms your love of life.Named after Empress Elisabeth 'Sisi' of Austria who commissioned the hotel, this elegant white stoned wonder has been standing pride of place in Hvar main square since 1898. Old World 19th Century period features blend seamlessly with contemporary touches following a complete 2019 refurbishment.
Location
Proud of place in the heart of Hvar’s main square, a couple of hundred metres from catamarans waiting to take you to Split or the islands of Korčula and Vis. Split on the mainland is a 1-hour speedboat ride. Beach fans take note, there are none within wandering distance. You'll have to hop into a car to get to one of Hvar’s beautiful beaches.
Rooms
45 rooms and suites, all elegantly furnished and all many with stunning sea views. Some come with private balconies overlooking the fun of Hvar’s main square.
Who is it for
Adults looking for a fine luxury base for a few nights. We don't recommend it for long vacations but it's a great choice for those looking for a base of island exploration or somewhere lush to rest your head between cruise legs.
Facilities & activities
The in-house San Marco Restaurant comes with stunning views of the square and harbour. A spa with multiple sauna options. An open air-terrace with plush seating. An indoor glass-walled pool opening onto a sundeck.
