Surprisingly boutique, chic and cosy, this rarified Tokyo hotel doesn’t seem like the typical Four Seasons. It’s understated, relaxed and feels more like a private members club than a hotel.
Stay at Four Seasons Marunouchi
Significantly smaller and more laid-back than the Four Seasons sister hotel at Otemachi. With only 47 rooms, this is among Tokyo’s more intimate stays and it’s far more low key than you’d expect from the brand. The hotel spans the third to seventh floors of a skyscraper, so not the choice if you want a big cityscape view. But you do get great views onto all the streetside action.
Location
In the heart of busy and bustling Tokyo, amid the financial district’s skyscrapers next to Tokyo Station. You can’t really get more central, which makes the hotel’s calm vibe all the more rewarding.
Rooms
Very welcoming, with a design that blends Japanese design with lavish Four Seasons bathrooms. Rooms with a view over Tokyo Station are the most interesting - it’s a fascinating and iconic sight throughout day and night - although they’re not 100% isolated from the noise below. Suites will satisfy families.
Who is it for
A fantastic choice for families. The hotel is very active in creating a fun Japanese experience for kids. The suites are very comfortable for families of four and such a central location delivers convenience too. That said, couples on a busy itinerary will find a refuge here as well.
Facilities & activities
The incredibly helpful service will be familiar to Four Seasons fans - definitely use their complementary pickup service if you’re arriving by train to the enormous and confusing Tokyo Station. The facilities are limited though, with no swimming pool and a very small spa. The hotel’s standout feature is French-Japanese restaurant Motif on the seventh floor, which extends into a salon that’s nice for afternoon tea.
