Aman Tokyo

Stunning. This may well be our top choice in Japan’s capital. We love the intimacy, privacy and calming vibe, something unexpected and much appreciated in such a busy city.

Stay at Aman Tokyo

Aman Tokyo brings a big dose of tranquillity to the cityscape. It’s sleek and serene in the best of ways, with a prime location and top-level service. Meanwhile, minimal interiors tap into Japan’s iconically ancient past. Beyond the lobby, with its dramatic ikebana displays, the rooms are a soothing enclave. Wake to boundless views over the city bustle, where an in-suite breakfast feels a world away from the streets below.

Location

One of very few urban Aman outposts, this hotel calls the top six floors of a 38-storey skyscraper home. Situated in the Otemachi business district, guests have easy access to sites like the Imperial Palace. The Tokyo skyline views are pretty special too.

Rooms

Bright, airy and spacious. All the 84 rooms adopt a sleek design, a contemporary reimagining of the country’s traditional ryokan inns, making use of tatami mat rugs, light wood walls and artful calligraphy scrolls.

Who is it for

Though families are welcome, the vibe of the property is very adult-geared and quiet. Therefore, we tend to recommend this place more to couples.

Facilities & activities

The spa here should first and foremost be celebrated. Spanning two floors and an epic 2,500 sq m, it hosts an onsen-style stone bath and 30-metre pool. There’s also a fitness centre, a 33rd-floor Italian restaurant, the Lounge and the ground-floor Cafe. The latter has outdoor seating and a distinct French-bistro style.
