Check-in at Javri Lodge
Javri is located on the edge of Saariselkä, the country's northernmost ski resort, approximately 25 minutes from Ivalo Airport. The boutique lodge has only 13 rooms and is exclusively for adults. There is an indoor pool, gym, massage and of course saunas. You will stay in the top room category "Skyview" which is upstairs and has a 3.2m high floor to ceiling window to give you the best views of the countryside, and hopefully the Northern Lights at night.

Husky adventure
We will start the experience at the husky kennel, where we will meet the dogs and have a short briefing on dog sledding and safety. We will then set off on a 10 - 15 km long dog sledding trail. There is a short stop in the middle to take turns driving (one driving, one sitting). Upon returning to the kennel, we say goodbye to the dogs and head back to the lodge. You will have room for a pool or sauna before dinner.

Aurora Camp dinner & polar lights
Tonight we'll head to Aurora camp and if we're lucky, we'll see the Northern Lights. The camp is located near Lake Inari and although it is only a 15 minute drive from Ivalo, it is a place that is completely unspoiled by light pollution. This creates perfect conditions for aurora viewing. Before dinner, there will be a lecture on what the Northern Lights are, how they are created and how Norse mythology is connected to them. This will be followed by a walk to the lake and observation, then a three-course dinner prepared over an open fire.

Snowmobile adventure
Today we're off to explore the endless space of the Finnish north on snowmobiles. After a safety briefing, you'll hop on a snowmobile and enjoy 2 hours of paired driving - swapping the controls with your partner halfway through to enjoy both adrenaline-packed driving and carefree enjoyment of nature from the passenger seat. On request, it is possible to arrange a scooter just for you. There will be several stops along the way for hot coffee and a closer look at the Arctic nature.

Snowshoeing experience
Snowshoes have been an integral part of Lapland for centuries and you simply can't do without them in winter. After lunch, we will go for a two-hour walk in the surrounding countryside.

Ice-fishing experience
The so-called hole hunting is a very popular activity among the locals and today you can try it too. An experienced fisherman will explain the techniques of this fishing and then you will make your own hole in the thick layer of ice and cast your rod. After fishing, you will warm up by an open fire and if you are successful in your fishing, you will grill your fresh fish.

Reindeers in the forest
A reindeer-drawn sleigh ride is one of the iconic experiences you can't miss in Lapland. You will ride through picturesque snow-covered landscapes and admire the purity of nature all around you. One sledge is for 2 people, and you sit comfortably huddled in the warmth the whole time. After the ride you will have the opportunity to get to know the reindeer better and you will be able to treat them to a lichen - their favourite treat!

Go-karting on snow!
You will be able to try what it's like to drive go-karts in the snow and also have a little race! After the safety briefing, there will be a 10 minute practice session followed by a 15 minute qualifying session where you will be tasked with driving the fastest lap possible. Qualifying will determine the start order of the race, which will last 15 minutes. After the results are announced and we warm up with hot drinks, we will slowly make our way back to the airport in Ivalo.
