The tour ends at the harbour where we board a private yacht and go whale watching.

Whale watching from private yacht
The ship leaves the old port of Reykjavik and heads between the small islands in Faxaflói Bay. During the cruise, you will have spectacular views of the city, but your attention will be focused mainly on the sea. Minke whales, humpback whales, dolphins and porpoises are the most common sightings. With a bit of luck, it is also possible to see killer whales and many other marine animals. Day 2
06.06.2024 09:00 - 18:00
South coast adventure
First we head to the Gígjökull glacier. It lies in the Thórsmörk valley, which was named after Thor, the Norse god of thunder. We then take a course for Seljalandsfoss, a waterfall that earned its fame thanks to a cave that formed naturally behind the cascading water. The northern puffin stays on the Dyrhólaey promontory during the summer months, which will be the next stop on our programme. At the famous black beach of Reynisfjara, we'll swap our guided car for quad bikes for an adrenaline-fuelled ride through the countryside. On the way back to the hotel there is then a stop at the famous Skógafoss waterfall, which is 25 meters wide and the water falls about 60 meters. Skógafoss lies directly between the Mýrdalsjökull and Eyjafjallajökull glaciers. A lunch stop is planned during the day.
06.06.2024 14:00 - 16:00
ATV adrenaline ride on black sand beach
At the Dyrhólaey promontory we swap the car and driver for quad bikes and go for an adrenaline ride on the black beach of Reynisfjara and the surrounding countryside. From the base we head down to the black lava sands, crossing small rivers along the way. The black lava sand comes from previous glacial outpourings of the dormant Katla volcano. Down on the black beach, you will stop and enjoy the amazing view of the Mýrdalsjökull glacier (depending on the weather) and the Dyrhólaey headland. Along the coast, you will drive to the famous DC3 wreck. One quad per couple, swapping halfway through to enjoy the ride from both the driver and passenger perspective. Alternatively a solo quad can be arranged.
06.06.2024 20:00 - 23:00
Viking dinner at Ingólfsskáli restaurant
In the family-run restaurant you will immerse yourself in a Viking feast in a modern concept. Drink from the horn, dine with dishes made in the flames and fortify yourself with locally sourced food that will evoke the spirit of true Vikings! The restaurant is a 15-minute drive from the hotel.
Day 3
07.06.2024 09:00 - 17:00
Golden circle in a superjeep
After checking out of the hotel in the morning, our guide will pick us up in a superjeep and we will set off to discover the Golden Circle. Our first stop is Thingvellir National Park, a place where the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates join to form a continental rift valley that is dotted with fissures and cracks. This is also the site of the Althing, Iceland's first parliament. The next destination will be Haukadalur. In this geothermal valley is the geyser after which all the others are named. The big geyser doesn't erupt as often, but its neighbour, Strokkur, is extremely active, shooting boiling water up to 40 metres every 10 minutes. We stop here for lunch and then continue to Gullfoss Waterfall, which is called the Golden Waterfall. The water cascades down in two stages. In the first phase, the drop is 11 metres high and the second drop is 22 metres high, both phases flowing into a 2.5 km long canyon. Then it's time to head to your next accommodation, which is none other than the famous The Retreat at Blue Lagoon. The journey will take approximately 2 hours.
07.06.2024 19:00 - 09.06.2024 11:00
Stay at The Retreat at Blue Lagoon
The spa resort in the lunar landscape reflects the essence of Icelandic luxury, and it's no wonder it's Iceland's most famous hotel. It will provide us with a base for the next 2 nights and will relax you perfectly after a busy schedule. You will have a Junior Suite Lagoon View room (40 m2) at your disposal.
07.06.2024 20:00 - 22:00
Dinner at hotel restaurant Lava
The restaurant is carved into an 800-year-old lava cliff on the west side of the Blue Lagoon. Lava is where dynamic modern cuisine meets unique design and exclusively local ingredients.
Day 4
08.06.2024 09:00 - 19:00
Spa day at Blue Lagoon
Today is all about you. Enjoy the most beautiful thermal baths in the world, go for a massage at the famous Retreat Spa, treat yourself to a skincare procedure made from local products, or simply relax completely with water therapy. The water here reaches 39 degrees celsius and is rich in minerals, silicon dioxide and sulphur. The water is forced from a depth of 2,000 meters below the earth's surface by the nearby Svatsengi geothermal power plant. We will be happy to provide you with your preferred treatments and help you arrange a relaxation program that suits you best.
08.06.2024 10:00 - 16:00
Optional activity - a trip inside a volcano
If you don't want to rest all day, you can go inside a volcano. Literally. The ancient Thrihnukagigur volcano is a dormant volcano (it last erupted 4,000 years ago), where you can use a special elevator to visit the magma chamber. Keep in mind that you have to walk to the volcano (approx. 3 km each way) at an altitude of 600 meters above sea level. You will down to the volcano by an open elevator and you will spend about half an hour at the bottom of the crater, which is 120 meters underground.
08.06.2024 20:00 - 22:00
Dinner at hotel restaurant Moss (1* Michelin)
Chef Aggi Sverrisson first won his Michelin star in 2010. He was awarded a star for Moss Restaurant in 2023.
