Venice Biennale Artistic Getaway
Day 1 – To Venice by Private Jet and Venice Venice
The new Venice Venice hotel is ideal for an art-focused holiday in the City of Canals.
There’s a strong sense of heritage in this historical building on the main canal, combined with the atmosphere of a contemporary art hotel.
Every room is designed with different art and many are extremely striking, as well as spacious. We will advise you personally on room choice.
For more classic, time-honoured hospitality we also recommend Aman Venice and Cipriani, A Belmond Hotel.
Day 2 – Best of the Biennale
Spend your day exploring the most prominent pavilions and exhibitions, with a local guide involved with the Biennale curation.
A private gondola will take you from gallery to gallery, although you will need to walk in some places too. Il Ridotto is a charming local eatery for lunch.
It’s easy to incorporate some of Venice’s most prominent galleries, even if they’re not part of the Biennale. So this is a very flexible day of exploration with a local expert.
Likely to be included are: Peggy Guggenheim Collection, Galleria dell’Accademia di Venezia, Doge’s Palace, Ca Pesaro – International Gallery of Modern Art, and the Pinault Collection.
Expect to attend a special Biennale event or cocktail party with dinner, either this evening or on day three. Exact programs are not currently known.
Day 3 – Artists & Ateliers of Venice
Immerse yourself in a world of curation, with an art consultant guide leading you through the canals and islands of this enigmatic city.
Spend a morning in the studios of local and international artists, learning first hand about their work and art.
Discover the incredible work of the Bevilacqua atelier. You will see weavers at work and learn how Soprarizzo velvet is handmade on looms from the 18th century.
Watch the production of 24 carat gold leaf and glass enamel mosaics at Orsoni atelier. Then try for yourself during a mosaic workshop.
We suggest an informal lunch today, at a typical Italian trattoria. It’s hearty food in a bustling atmosphere, with restaurant Gatto Nero a firm favourite of your guide.
A final evening in Venice is perfect for a gondola ride through the canals, ending at the Michelin starred Local. The menu builds on the local traditions and local ingredients of a trattoria, by bringing a creative and contemporary perspective on Venetian cuisine.
Day 4 – Murano Glass Blowing & Departure
About the island Murano, renowned glass artist Rony Plesl told Explorer magazine:
Only a few thousand people live on Murano. They have their own language, they are proud of their traditions. Working there I soon learnt that you can do beautiful things in beautiful company…In Italy, you feel as if, somehow, the world belongs to you.
For almost a millennia, Murano has held a special place in the art world. It still does. Rony Plesl went full circle when returning to Venice in 2022, when his installation Trees Grow From the Sky was part of the Biennale.
End your trip to Venice with a glass blowing workshop on the island of Murano.
Later in the day, return home at your leisure on a private jet.
