Welcome to a frozen paradise of fjords and ice, where interiors play off the natural setting, and the location exudes Arctic adventures at its core. You will soon find enchantment to be rather limitless, for this is a remote retreat worlds away from the hubbub.Wake to dramatic scenes just beyond your cabin. Embrace the 180 huskies that live on-site. A darling way to energise, soon you prepare for a private snowmobile drive. Your late-night safaris are seeped in just as much wonder, one of which is the extraordinary aurora borealis. Crackling fires and warm drinks are served upon your return, whilst those not yet weary of the cold head for a night in an ice bed full of frosty grandeur.

Location

Conveniently located 15 minutes by car from Kirkenes Airport, the Snowhotel hides in the northernmost stretches of Scandinavia. Not far from the Russian border, it is a fantastic base from which to witness the Northern Lights. Langfjorden is also closeby.

Rooms

Within, there are 10 gamme cabins, with sleek wooden styling and epic views. Next, there are the 20 igloo-like rooms, hand-crafted entirely out of snow and ice. These are only available in the winter season - a chance to swap typical comforts for the truly unique.

Who is it for

The remote, cosy ambience here is befitting of couples. Families, too, are welcomed, though only children aged above 7 can access all tours.

Amenities & Activities

A wealth of activities await, from charming husky safaris to hunting king crabs, after which you will sample your catch right by the fjords. Fishing, hiking and late-night Northern Lights adventures add to the mix. Facilities feature a sauna, two restaurants, snug lounge areas for relaxing and Norway’s largest ice bar.
