Recently renovated and surprisingly boutique. This is a good choice for a city stay in Munich.
Stay at Mandarin Oriental Munich
Bavarian grandeur meets the East at Munich’s best hotel, which is fresh from a large-scale 2020 renovation. From the iconic rooftop pool to the contemporary rooms and suites, Mandarin Oriental Munich has the facilities and grandeur to match some of the best European city hotels. Yet with less than 75 rooms and suites, it also has a boutique and personalised feel.
Location
Extremely central, backing onto the Hofbrauhaus beer cellar and a few hundred metres to both Maximilianstrasse and Marienplatz. Many of Munich’s best boutiques and restaurants are within easy walking distance of the hotel. Yet it’s also a remarkably quiet location, away from the bustle of the main streets.
Rooms
All the rooms and suites were renovated in 2020, with the redesigned bathrooms a particularly important upgrade. Other than the entry-level rooms, all the accommodations are unique in some way. For something really special try the two-bedroom Tower Suite.
Who is it for
Very good for couples and can also be very comfortable for families, although the number of interconnecting rooms is limited. The location and facilities make it a good choice for any type of visit to Munich. Like all good Munich hotels, rooms and suites for Oktoberfest week are booked long in advance.
Facilities & activities
A rooftop swimming pool and bar overlooking the city, loved by returning guests and locals alike. A spa area that’s a nice retreat from the city. A superb restaurant Matsuhisa Munich and plenty more. But highest marks go to the service, which is excellent for a city hotel.
