Chimpanzee Trekking in Rwanda

Deep into the Congo Basin you walk, your guide chopping a new pathway with his machete. Black and white colobus monkeys swing in the highest treetops. Mangabeys call from the trees. You could spot another ten primates. But today you’re tracking one of the rarest sights of all – wild chimpanzees.

Nyungwe Forest National Park is among the best three destinations for chimpanzee trekking and there are two habituated troops. You enjoy an intimate primate walking safari on route to spending an hour with the chimps. They are our closest relatives and as you come eye to eye the comparisons are magical.
