Whale Watching in Puerto Vallarta

They always seem to appear when you take your eyes off the water for a second. Majestic humpback whales who have come to the Bay of Banderas from Canada and the States to give birth and mate, as if on their own Mexican vacation.

But there they are, crashing into the water, spraying jets high into the air. You can get as close to 60 metres from them in your boat. It’s humbling, it’s emotional, it connects you with nature. No wonder it’s so high up on people’s bucket lists.

Note that the season typically lasts between December and March. Humpbacks are not alone here. Bryde’s whale and dolphins may also play, on this relaxed day of cruising Pacific waters.
